Heat Pump Screen Fence Every Year In The Spring My Screen Door Gets Blown By The Wind And Pulls The Screws Out Of The Door Frame?

Every year in the spring my screen door gets blown by the wind and pulls the screws out of the door frame? - heat pump screen fence

I buy and install a new pump for the door of each year. This is getting old ... and under division also ... The door is a heavy wood core and expands and contracts from humidity and heat and cold. He is 20 years with holes in the metal industry (so that penetrates) the water into the wood core. The door opens to the north, so it does not take much wind, but sometimes. Suggestions? Yes, the last time I was not the chain of existence if it was a mistake ..

Install the screws, some of them already in the doorway. I had the same problem with my door, and a few others that I worked. The screw 1 or 1 1 / 2 inches is not long enough to give a good grip. Get some 3 inch galvanized live from your hardware. Use them to secure the arm in the closing door to. Go deep enough to hit the drawing of the house. If the holes in the doors are in ruins, drill completely through the door and the screws with bolts, nuts and washers. Make sure the screws are all going to the door and use a shim between the door and the mother. And as you said, you can install on the chain to prevent it from opening until today.

in the same area of hardware, have been buying new parts for your door to deliver a series of funds for this purpose. One end of the chain to the top of the frame and the other side of the door fastened. The chain has a spring to provide the force with which the door opens.

Some thoughts for Ponderizationism.
I want to use the restraining chain to buy also, so better approach () see the door, the same hell, you can now buy with remote control .... You can use the channel and closes the top and bottom of the door. Finally, buy, perhaps a new door, and change the swing or a massive steel door to be safe and not blowing you around. GL.

Mevlana Hello! Bugs280 answer is money. The only thing I would add, good advice is that you have some epoxy or gorilla glue on the threads of the screw, before you use it. The link with the timber and substantially reduce the risk of drawing freely, but it will also help if the existing holes are a little loose. You might also consider helping seal holes in the metal, the infiltration of water before the door starts to rot.

The only part of his answer was * slight * problem with the proposal, screws, washers, etc. to use, it works fine, but my best solution is to large holes and epoxy-type maple (or oak) Drill holes in the studs in the wood a good ON (normally I use 3 / 8 "or pins, or more if possible). In this way, no need of the target.
Good luck!
